That's Cork?

So our furry friend Groundhog decided to give us another 6 weeks of winter.  I do not recall having this cold of a winter in such a long time.  It sure makes me nostalgic when I remember those walks on the beach during my lunch hour while working at that gorgeous beachfront property.  But my heart was set on returning to Canada, and Rok Cork has enabled me and my team to feel close to our heritage and gives us the opportunity never to be too far away from that gorgeous climate - it's just one plane ride away, any new collection of Cork Fashion Accessories is a good reason to hop on a plane, and go visit our suppliers, which i might add are quite the artisanal craftsmen.

Who would have known that a tree bark could be transformed into something so beautiful and versatile.  I know it's hard for you to even imagine what it feels like.  Most of the people that I've come across either at the supermarket, the mall, the doctors office, I see them looking at my purse with this curious look on their face, and when I say to them "it's Cork, did you want to feel it?" they are blown away - their first words, Oh my god, it feels so smooth, or it smells so good, or it looks like suede, and then I get all excited and passionate giving them a lesson on how cork is processed, how it takes approx. 45 years for the bark to be at it's pristine peak in order to be harvested.  It's an amazing feeling to see how more and more people drawn to Eco-Friendliness everything.  Together we can make a change.

I just had to share this with you guys, and as we like to say at Rok Cork We are helping to sustain the world one bag at a time..

Until next time...keep warm and Rok Cork!
